Problem
Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) would like users to be able to search the suite of sites when they come to the DHHS corporate website. Depending on the search term, there could be many results. We are looking to improve the search experience by ofering better search functionality and offering the ability to refine and sort results.

Research
Researched and reviewed best pratice of sites that filter large amounts of results well.

Design/prototype
I designed several options (wireframes) for users to be able to filter their results. I ran several scenarios by them and tracked their journey, behaviour, expectations and pain points. A different coloured icon (colour related to site) would be next to each search result to help the user realisse the results were coming from different sites.

Tools used
Pen and paper, sketch for wireframes, invision for protoype.
