Concept for mobile medical app

MediGo

Problem
Going to the GP and communicating symptoms can be challenging, Patients spend significant consultation time talking through their family and medical history, medications, pain and allergies.

For GPs, their time is stretched - they generally see 30 patients a day in 15 minute appointments. Each patient will have a different definition of pain, and may consciously or unconsciously withhold crucial information.

Journey map
The people I spoke to tended to have either a chronic illness which required regular Doctor, Specialist and Surgeon visits or needed regular GP visits for ongoing medication scripts and tests. As I mapped the user journey there were many similarities in the user needs and motivations.

From the research I realised it needed to be a mobile app as the user was rarely at home when they needed their medical information. The most common needs were: a medical timeline, a list of medications and dosage amounts, Doctor contact list.

Objective
How can I view and have instant access to all my medical information?

Research
I conducted some research to see if there was anything similar in the market place. From what I could see, there was nothing that compared with my requirements but there were many useful apps that could be linked to enhance MediGo. I would look to have several of these integrated in phase two.

Sitemap
I did some card sorting and made some assumptions as to the logical order for where things would sit and then made a prototype to test.

Prototype
Developed a prototype and tested it on a couple of the users I spoke to and some people who were completely new to the idea. I discovered a few issues, onboarding - where you set up your doctors and their info and how you go about searching for a new doctor - location based etc.

Tools used
Pen and paper, illustrator and sketch for wireframes, invision for protoype.
